A trip to Sudan is a real feast for the lover of the cultures of a bygone past. Here opens a happy opportunity to get acquainted in a short time with the evidence of the ancient Sudan's power preserved for thousands of years, whose rulers, at times, managed to seize for a time the throne of the great northern neighbor.

More often, however, it was the other way around. For example, Nubia, the northern part of modern Sudan, was under the rule of the ancient Egyptian pharaohs for hundreds of years, until the eighth century BC. Not without reason in the vast area between the Nubian Desert and the Nile are many monuments of ancient Egypt.
