Expedition to Antarctica on the sailing ship AMAZONE with a roundtrip flight across the Drake Passage.
DAY 1-2: PUNTA ARENA AND DRAKE PASSAGE FLIGHT
On the first day of the expedition, we will meet in Punta Arenas, Chile and check into our hotel. The next morning, we will fly to Antarctica on a DAP Airlines plane. The flight time is 2 hours.
The plane will take us to King George Island, where the sailboat Amazone will be waiting for us. After a welcoming speech from the captain, the crew will conduct a safety briefing. Then we will gather for a joint dinner, get to know each other better and be assigned to our cabins. In the evening, we will set out to sea for the first time. The expedition begins!
DAY 3–10: EXPEDITION ON THE SAILING SHIP AMAZONE
From day 3 to day 10 of the expedition, you will explore the most beautiful locations of the Antarctic Peninsula on the sailing ship Amazone, get as close as possible to blue icebergs and listen to the crackling of centuries-old glaciers, visit scientific stations and meet polar explorers, go into the caldera of an extinct volcano on Deception Island and touch the history of whaling, be able to watch thousands of penguins, and if you're lucky - whales right from the sailing ship.
