Long ago, in the tranquil waters of Mahon-Menorca, a sea monster terrorized the villagers who lived near the port. The creature was said to be massive, with scales as hard as stone and eyes that glowed red in the night. It would emerge from the depths of the sea, attacking boats and dragging sailors down into the water with its powerful tentacles.

Many brave sailors tried to defeat the monster, but none were successful. They could not pierce its tough skin with their weapons, and the creature seemed impervious to any attacks. The villagers of Mahon-Menorca were helpless, and they lived in fear of the sea monster.

One day, a young woman named Maria had an idea. She would try to make friends with the sea monster, to find out what it wanted and why it was attacking their village. She prepared a basket of fresh fish and set out to the port. When she reached the water's edge, she called out to the monster in a soft voice.

To her surprise, the sea monster rose out of the water and approached her. Maria was frightened, but she held out the basket of fish and spoke kindly to the creature. The sea monster accepted the fish and seemed to calm down.

Maria continued to visit the sea monster each day, bringing more fish and speaking to it in gentle tones. Gradually, the creature became less aggressive, and the villagers of Mahon-Menorca could travel safely on the waters again.

It was said that Maria's kindness had tamed the sea monster, and the villagers honored her for her bravery and compassion. To this day, the legend of the Sea Monster of Mahon-Menorca lives on, reminding us of the power of kindness and compassion in the face of fear and adversity.
