The greenest oasis in Barcelona - Parc de la Ciutadella. On the grounds of the Parc, there are several attractions: the zoo, the Catalan Parliament, museu d'Art, Zoological Museum and the Museu de Geologia. Travelers who collect panoramic views should visit the top of Tibidabo, at 512 meters (1,880 feet) high the highest mountain overlooking Barcelona. The most representative moments of Picasso’s life wait for you at The Picasso Museum. The Magic Fountain is originally built in 1929. It is a spectacular dance of water and light! In Parc del Laberint d'Horta you can see with your own eyes where a famous scene from “Perfume – The Story of a Murderer” movie was filmed.

Food

Barcelona got quite a different gastronomical taste than the rest of Spain. Locals insist that you can’t leave Barcelona without trying these Catalonian dishes:

Fideuà- Fideuà is paella but with noodles. Esqueixada- Light, refreshing, ceviche style Catalan salad is made with raw salted cod, tomatoes, onions, romesco sauce and black olives. Escalivada- grilled eggplant, red peppers, garlic, salt and olive oil. Optionally, anchovies or sardines can be added. Mandonguilles amb Sípia- A unique dish that combines stewed meatballs with cuttlefish. Mató- A creamy, sweet cheese that is often topped with walnuts and honey. Pastisset - powdered sugar cookies with almonds. They're made with a combination of lard, butter, sugar, egg yolks, flour, cinnamon, and grated lemon peel.

According to the legend, Heracles and his brother Hermes accompanied Jason and the Argonauts in search of the Golden Fleece. The group set out in a fleet of nine ships, one of which was lost in a storm in the middle of the Mediterranean.

When they finally found the ship located next to the south of Barcelona. Heracles and Hermes were so taken by the area that they decided to build a new city which they called Barca Nona (ninth ship).
