Saudi Arabia belongs to the few monarchies in the world named after the ruling dynasty. At the head of the state is the Al Saud royal family.
Thanks to the enormous oil reserves and pragmatism of the rulers of this dynasty, over the past half century, literally before the eyes of a generation, the country has transformed from a deserted outskirts of the Middle East region into one of the richest powers on the planet.
Until very recently, a Muslim country with an ancient original culture and striking landscapes was closed to mass tourism of non-Christians. Today it has already introduced tourist visas, opening up wide opportunities for travelers.
The kingdom has created an excellent tourist infrastructure, the sea resorts, luxury hotels and restaurants, entertainment and huge shopping centers. The country has wonderful natural attractions, many unique monuments, among which there are 5 UNESCO World Heritage sites.
