The beach got its name because of the vast and rather ancient fig grove located nearby. Of course, on the very shore you are unlikely to meet at least one fig tree, but you can walk further from the shore and enjoy the stunning nature of the island. But there is a picturesque promenade on the beach in Fig Tree Bay that blooms in spring. And some locals claim that a huge fig tree (this is a fig tree) grew right on the beach for several centuries, until a rapidly developing civilization destroyed it.
