Once a small fishing village, Ploce has grown into a bustling port city over the years. But beyond the boats and the cargo, there is a hidden story that has been passed down through generations of locals.

According to legend, there was a young maiden who fell in love with a sailor who arrived in Ploce on a trading ship. They would spend every moment they could together, but as time passed, the sailor's duty called him away from Ploce.

Heartbroken, the maiden would spend her days by the sea, looking out at the horizon, hoping to see her love's ship return. As the years went by, she aged, but never gave up hope.

One day, as an old woman, she was walking along the shore and saw a ship approaching in the distance. She could barely contain her excitement as she waited for it to dock.

When the ship finally arrived, she made her way to the deck, searching for her long-lost love. But he was nowhere to be found. Instead, she found a note written by him, saying that he had been taken captive by pirates and had finally escaped.

He had returned to Ploce, but had been transformed by his captivity and was now a wealthy and powerful pirate. He wrote that he had come back to offer her riches and luxury, but he did not recognize her as the young maiden he had once loved.

Heartbroken once again, the old woman refused his gifts, declaring that she would rather live a life of poverty and simplicity than betray the memory of her true love.

The pirate, moved by her loyalty and devotion, realized that he had made a grave mistake. He begged for her forgiveness and offered to spend the rest of his days serving her and making amends for his past.

And so, the legend goes, the pirate and the maiden spent the remainder of their days in Ploce, living simply and humbly, but with a love that endured the test of time. Visitors to Ploce can still see the house where they lived, a symbol of true love and devotion that continues to inspire the people of this beautiful port city.
